Designs by juju

Today is the last day to take advantage of one of my favorite embroidery sites.

Depending on how many you buy, all designs sets are just $5 or less.

I have purchased and stitched out many of these designs and they always come out perfect.

I'm making my list and stocking up.

All I need now is to figure out where Mr. Fisherman hides his credit cards....
(You didn't think I was buying, did you?)
After all, Mr. Fisherman is the one who got me into this embroidery obsession.

It makes sense I should use his credit card.

Am I right ladies?

The Secretary

Last week I shared  The Principal pattern by Schoolhouse Patterns with you.
This week I am sharing another pattern I tested for Cindy at Schoolhouse Patterns.

The Secretary

the secretary

It comes in three sizes.
I chose the smallest size for my daughter.

I think it turned out pretty cute for using up scraps of denim and leftover fabric from

Just another cute, simple and easy pattern from Schoolhouse Patterns.

Thanks Cindy.
I have had such fun testing your patterns.
Hope you will check her out.

What a steal !

One day last week I was cruising through Michaels and came across these adorable little grosgrain ribbons.

yards per roll

Regular price $4.99 each - sale price $1.00!

That's 63 feet  of (really cute) ribbon for $3.00 !
(63 feet or 756 inches)

I may not have plans for ALL 756 inches, but I have plans...

Pattern testing...

Several months ago Cindy with Schoolhouse Patterns (formerly known as Pattern Patti)
contacted me and ask if I would be interested in testing a few patterns for her.
I was thrilled!
Of course, I said yes.

The first pattern I tested was The Principal.

the principal

The Principal is a sewing pattern that includes instructions to make a tablet sleeve to fit your iPad, iPad Mini or any Kindle.

While Cindy's patterns are simple enough for beginners, the experienced sewer will love the endless possibilities to personalize this little iPad/Kindle sleeve.

I chose to dress my Principal for "casual Friday".

Of course I couldn't let the opportunity go by without at least a little embroidery, so I added Mr. Fisherman's initials.

The Schoolhouse Patterns are offered in PDF form, making it easy to download now and get started right away.

So what are you waiting for?
Go check out her patterns and get started.

Next week I will reveal another Schoolhouse Pattern I've been working on.

Happy Friday!

Braelynn's basket completed

Remember this?

She now looks like this!

Check out her little tummy.

Isn't she precious?

I added a few more things.

Baby powder, lotion and...

a zippered pouch for wipes.

If you missed any other goodies I included, you can check them out at the links below:

Weekend happenings

I hope everyone had a great and productive weekend!

Mine started out on Saturday very productive.

We painted...

 hung a few new doors...

and changed the locks on our rental property, getting ready for new tenants.

Then Sunday morning THIS happened!!

Mr. Fisherman woke up with a sore throat, cough and stuffy nose.
Needless to say, all our work came to a screeching halt.

When Mr. Fisherman is sick, I wait on him hand and foot.
Not because I am the sweet, caring wife, (sorry, punkin') but because I don't want him spreading his nasty germs throughout the house and get my daughter sick.
I quarantine him to the bedroom and take him breakfast, lunch and dinner. If he even thinks he is coming out of that room, I am following behind him with disinfectant spray.

I was able to squeeze in a tiny bit of embroidery while he was napping.
Braelynn's room is decorated in zebra print and pink.
Going with that theme, I was able to embroider a quick receiving blanket using a zebra font and her name on a little hat before Mr. Fisherman's nap was over.

Stay tuned...
More to come.

Basket fillers

I plan on putting together a basket for my niece for her baby shower similar to
 Oakleigh's, Kember's and Brantley's baskets.

I am still working on a few projects but also need a few "fillers" for the basket.

Since her room is decorated in black, white and pink I thought this little frame would be a cute little filler.

I've got lots more work to do to pull this basket together.
The shower is February 23.
Yikes!
I gotta get busy.
See ya soon.

~ Sisterly love ~

I totally took advantage of the fact my grandbabies are only 10 months and 5 years old when I embroidered these shirts.

At five, Oakleigh still loves her baby sister and at 10 months, Brantley doesn't read.

I am pretty sure when they are 11 and 15 years old, they wouldn't be caught dead in these shirts!

Hugs and Kisses for Polly...

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

I've added a few gadgets

Good morning and Happy Wednesday!

I recently received the sweetest e-mail from a reader asking to subscribe to my blog.
Subscribe to - my little blog ???
Really ???
I had no idea anyone would be interested enough to actually subscribe to it.
She went on to say how silly she felt because there was probably somewhere on my blog to subscribe but she couldn't find it.
She wasn't silly at all. She couldn't find it because it wasn't there!
I was so excited someone would want to subscribe; I've added both the "follow by e-mail" and the "subscribe to" features on my sidebar.

To all who follow, comment and/or subscribe.
I LOVE my readers!

What is YOUR most used kitchen appliance?

Mine?

(I am a little embarrassed to admit this).

It's this Cuisinart ice cream, sorbet and yogurt maker.
I originally blogged about it here.

Since Christmas this thing has really gotten a workout.
I have used it at least every other day since Christmas - NO LIE.
I would like to say I have been making quarts of healthy yogurt, but...

 NOPE.

Here's what I have been making...

I made my regular chocolate chip cookie recipe, but added toffee chips and little peanut butter into the mix.
First, I spooned the ice cream onto one cookie, I placed another cookie on top and pressed together  until the ice cream began to squish out the side and then I...

Mmmmmm.....
