HomeGoods...

Don't you just LOVE them?
They have so much to look at and their prices are always right.

I often stroll through HomeGoods looking for gift ideas.

Bettina's birthday was coming up soon and I needed a little gift.

I usually wander around trying to find something I can personalize.
I found the sweetest little ceramic tray holding a bottle of lemon scented hand soap and lotion.
I then found an adorable little yellow and white cutting board to match.

It was just the right size to prop behind the soap and add some color.

I added the personalized dishtowel and (since everything had a lemon theme) I included my favorite lemon pie recipe.

All wrapped and ready to go...

Because everything at HomeGoods is so reasonably priced, I was able to put this little gift together for under $20.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

One Crockpot two meals

All you need is a package of premade meatballs and a couple cans of store bought pasta sauce.

Add the frozen meatballs and a couple (or more) cans/jars of your favorite sauce into the Crockpot and cook on low for 5 or 6 hours.

Could it get any easier or cheaper?

Day one - add spaghetti noodles, garlic bread and a salad.
DONE!

Day two - Spread a little garlic butter on a hoagie roll and toast it a bit under the broiler.
Add the meatballs and mozzarella cheese on top of the toasted hoagie roll.
Pop it back under the broiler to melt the cheese.
 DONE!

Seriously, how easy was that!

Cherry Sorbetto

These Sorbetto tops are just too easy to whip together.
They take very little fabric and are super comfy.

I made my own bias tape for the armhole and neckline, but store bought would work just as well.

The placket in the front comes together very easy.

All the fabric, bias tape and buttons came from my scrap pile so this baby didn't cost me a penny to make.
I love it when that happens.

You can check out my others here and here.

Happy Wednesday!

I am grateful...

We made it through Irma with very little damage.

Stop what you are doing right now and look around.
There is always something to be grateful for.

Prepping for Irma

Yep. I'm in Tampa - smack dab in the middle of the line of fire.
As it looks right now, pretty much the entire state of Florida is in the path of Irma.
We have been batting down the hatches and stocking up.

While preparing for Irma I'm reminded of a few teacher gifts I made many, many years ago.
As I am getting ready to post these pictures I realized the dates on them...
2007!!
Where in the heck does the time go?

Anyhow...

I made my own pattern and cut it from neoprene.
While laying flat, I embroidered the initials.
I then stitched up both sides and finished the top with a strip of fabric to cover the raw edge.

For the girls I stitched a purse size holder for a few single serve drink packets.

For one older male I added an embroidered handkerchief.

I wrapped them in cellophane, adding a bookmark for the tag and ribbon.

Praying for all in the path of Irma...

Please prepare and be safe.
